I'm home and recovering from three days in New York City. I absolutely LOVE exploring there, but I get tuckered out getting around without cars and parking spots. We stayed at a hotel in Queens and took the subway into Manhattan. We had three hours to cram in as much sightseeing as we could, so we zoomed around.
Obviously we looked like midwest tourist hicks because as we started our roam in Times Square, all the tour bus people tried to stuff pamphlets into our hands. Unfortunately for them, our hands were loaded with cameras and umbrellas. How in the heck did they know we were not New Yorkers!
My only real goal was finding the Magonolia Bakery as seen on Sex and the City, such a worthy goal, I know. A cupcake with pink icing was going to be my birthday cake. Meanwhile, we stopped and snapped...LOTS of pictures.

It was grand fun for the cousins Joanna, Lindsay, Mark and Megan. Ever since they were kids they LOVE to do what we call "PILE". That means they, well...pile on each other. We have plenty of pile pictures through the years.
Here they are piled in the Big Apple. The parents all groan, but they still do it as teenagers.
After quick peeks at Rockefeller Center, NBC and ABC, Trump Tower, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and Radio City Music Hall, I told our throng I had never been in Central Park. We decided to stick our toes in one corner so I could say I've been in Central Park.
We couldn't have picked a prettier time of year. The flowers were in full bloom.
We LOVED tip-toeing through the tulips. Pink tulips are my favorite flower. Bunches of them together made my heart flutter.
Hubby had a LOVE-fest with Trump tower...
We all LOVED seeing the Statue of Liberty...it even talked and charged us 5-bucks to take Lindsay's picture by it. I told the Statue of Liberty that we are NOT midwest hicks...
Then we ran smack into the Magnolia Bakery and I LOVED the pink icing! That's my sister-in-law Joyce with me. I made her eat a cupcake 'cuz her birthday is the day before mine. Gotta LOVE it! Me to Hubby, "Do I look like Carrie on Sex and the City?". Hubby, "UH, no... you look like a midwest hick..."
The kids LOVED tackling one more pile before we had to head back to Queens...
I guess LOVE is piled all over New York City!

The Statue of Liberty CHARGES? REALLY?!?! How did all of our poor family members get over here if she was charging money??? You'd think she would have bought a new frock by now!
