Barns and the Morning Sky

When I rolled out of bed this morning about 7 o'clock,
I immediately ran to the window.
I have been waiting for a colorful morning sky.

We have many old and even centennial farms in my area and
I have been wanting to shoot pictures
of the numerous rustic barns
against the pinks, purples and blues of morning.

I was so excited to see the color,
I grabbed my camera and jumped in the car
complete with bed-hair.

I had the BEST morning zooming around,
trying to capture the simplicity of the old barns
and the spectacle of the morning sky.

(Click on images to make them bigger.)

The truth is...
I never really stopped to embrace the morning sky,
or the multiple quaint barns
that are so important to the farms in our area.

My new and growing love for photography
is opening my eyes like never before.

What used to be ho-hum,
now makes me stop and stare in awe.

I LOVE IT SO MUCH!

I am wondering where life is steering me...

These rustic old barns are so typically American, I do appreciate the lengths you go to capture these great shots Jill although could you enlighten me on what the purpose of the large erection in your 4th photo is?

That are very nice view. We don't have that kind of view in Malaysia.

Gosh, Ryan..I thought picture 4 was part of your nut experiment. LOL! So baddd!!! Actually, it is a silo where grain is stored after harvest. I take farms and barns for granted. They are EVERYWHERE around me. I could photograph hundreds of barns.

Hi Zezebel...*waves!*

Wow Jill! These are fabulous! I would have loved to have been there with you, bad hair and all! We could have matched as I do spontaneous things all of the time never caring about how I look! Just the other morning I wouldn't let my husband get into the bathroom until I jumped out of the window, on to the patio cover, just to get the beautiful pastel sky of the sunrise! I am in a postcard club and these pictures would make great postcards too! Thank you so much for sharing your views with me! I feel lucky to have met you.

What a wonderful series. It is nice when you are able to go out and shoot when the lighting is just right. It looks to me that you hit the nail on the head with these. Really love the older ones...but like I always say: I am old (72) so it is expected that I would be drawn to the old. Nice collection this week. genie
