Dandelions: Weeds or Wonder?

A few weeks ago, I was walking the trail behind our house and
found this sea of yellow.

I ran back home and grabbed my camera.

It looked like someone had smeared a big vat of mustard
across the vast field.

I think it's accurate to say my town has
a serious weed problem.

If I breathed deeply, I could get high...

on the beauty,
or
sneezy from allergies.

Yep, dandelion season was in full force
and I must say...I think yellow is pretty!

I don't even know this gal, but I asked her
if I could take some photos of her with her cute dogs.

Photo Club is this Thursday and our
assignment is "Pets".

I don't have a pet, so I had to borrow these:

Yes to YELLOW!

Of course, I couldn't help wondering what
this field would look like when the
dandelions turned to seed.

It happened last week and

WHOA!!!!

I had to run home and get the camera again.

The field was filled with fur balls!

I've never seen anything like it!

It was so oddly beautiful,
I plopped myself down in the
field and communed with nature...

Yep, getting high on WEED!

How and when did the yellow flowers
transform??

The puffs of white really are lovely
close up.

A "weed" among "real" flowers.

Yet, they really deserve their day in the sun.

The weeds really are beautiful...

As long as these seeds don't blow into
MY yard!

Jill you really should carry your camera with you at all times, it would save you a lot of leg work. Those fields are amazing, I've really never seen anything quite like it before but I know one thing...my kids would love to run around all day in there. Have a great time at photo club and keep up the good work.

Love those yellows! But I got a problem when the yellows turn into fur balls. I will have my allergic attack. That would mean another 120ML of antihistamine. :)

I love the photos! For me, dandelions are wonder, except of course for those who are allergic to it. TrendyKaren is so inspired because of this post. Thanks for posting, Jill!
