Sunrise...Sunset...

When I was visiting our
friends' cottage over the
I awoke at 5:15 in the morning.

Hubby and I were staying in a room
that overlooked Long Lake,
so we kept the shades open and at that
wee hour, I saw
a beautiful sky.

Not one to miss beauty and adventure,
I hopped out of bed and grabbed my camera.

While everyone else snoozed,
I enjoyed capturing the solitude...

and peacefulness of...

Early morning.

The day before, this placid lake
was choppy and stirred with boats and ski-doos.

I loved greeting the sun...

All by myself...

Sleepy eyes and all.

SUNSET

Early morning and dusk are the prettiest times of day.

I NEVER tire of photographing
the colorful skies.

These photos were taken
about 9:30 at night.

I looked down the lake and saw
this dog Freckles sitting on the dock.

He was taking in the glory
just like me.

Life sure is special.

Day is done...

Gone the sun...

But, always returns to begin anew...

Jill, Summer keeps me from the computer more, but I caught up with your blogs yesterday, except for the 4th of July morning/evening blog. You have such a good eye for good shots. All the pictures in the last previous blogs with the wildflowers and people (combinations of parent and child) were incredible. But the capture of the fireworks was most amazing. Your tools, your eye, and the enjoyment of nature always puts a smile on my face, ALMOST as good as being there. :-)Keep them coming!!

Simply stunning Jill. I was closly studying the morning shots of Long Lake to try and spot a ripple in the water, nope could'nt find one. It was perfectly still.

Thanks everyone! Ryan, that's why it was so peaceful and beautiful early in the morning with NO ripples in the water. Notice all the choppiness in the sunset photos.

Lovely photos. I don't tire of colourful skies either. Looks like a lovely place to relax - especially while everyone else sleeps.
