I am having so much fun with evening shoots
and backlighting and wanted to share a technique you may
want to try with your portraits.
I really like how dreamy the photos turned out
of Kirstie and Brittany.
Backlighting makes the portraits soft and ethereal
like Brittany below:
I am also loving my hair flowers and vintage clothing
from the thrift shops.
This portrait of Kirstie turned out amazing
with the sun illuminating her long hair.
In earlier blog posts
like this I shared a technique for adding bokeh
backgrounds to portraits.
I used them over a white studio background.
But after seeing outdoor portraits of Kirstie and Brittany, I tried
adding the bokeh here to create an even dreamier atmosphere.
I thought they turned out NEAT...a new twist,
so I tried it with more photos in the bunch.
I also had a fun portrait shoot with four year old Ella.
It's daisy time and I was thrilled to photograph a little girl in
the wild daisies that grow near us.
I thought the bokeh technique would work for
Ella's portraits, too.
You can find various heart bokeh online.
or use my own free bokeh
Have fun with this!

Absolutely stunning work Jill!
I second Ashleys comment to a T.... Absolutely STUNNING!
Such a great post, I love these images, more as I scrolled down actually, the bokeh really suits those 'into the sunlight' effects, gorgeous :)
Love those backlight shots, really need to try those soon.
Inspiring editing! Thanks for linking.
